Science and social studies collided this week in Mrs. Collett's second grade class at St. James Elementary. While learning about maps and the United States, Mr. Cusati visited the classroom and taught the students about how Long Island was formed. He then created mini glaciers with ice and had each student re-create the event with their own model.
Later, the students worked in pairs to learn the states and their locations. Lots of fun and learning was had by all!
